Kasol | best time to visit | top things to do in Kasol 2022
Covid 19 has changed our life to a great extent, the view of people about this world has changed, especially of those people who like to travel. Due to the lockdown, we all locked in our homes for a long time and now many people just want to get out of the houses and go to the mountains. I am also one of them.
I was also in the lap of the mountains before the arrival of Covid. Yes friends, I had made a plan to go somewhere in the mountains with my friends, so after searching a little I came to know about Kasol. I went to Kasol with my friends in June 2019. I share my experience with you along with important information.I am from Rajasthan, so I took a train from there to Chandigarh.
(CHANDIGARH)
My Route - Chandigarh-bhuntar-kasol
If you want, you can also take a direct flight from your place to Buntar. The distance from Bhuntar to Kasol is approx 30KM. But we first took a bus from Chandigarh to HRTC-58 terminal whose fare was around 500-600. ( per head).
The distance from chandigarh to Bhuntar is 250 km.
The bus journey was very tiring. We traveled for about 10,11 hours as construction work was going on on the roads. After reaching bhuntar, you can take private taxi from there or you can go with buses.
(BHUNTAR)
We decided to go by bus and our bus fare was Rs 80. It took us around 2 hours to reach Kasol from Bhuntar.
(KASOL)
The view of the roads was very beautiful. A person who loves mountains must fall in love with that place. The bus stopped at Main Bazaar in Kasol and we got down. There is an iron bridge on the left side of Kasol's Main Bazar, as soon as you cross it, you enter the chalal village.
(CHALAL BRIDGE)
We had booked our hotel there. It was 7 o'clock in the evening when we reached Kasol itself. Challal reached the village but you can see in this photo .
(RIVER SIDE VIEW)
(BAMBOO HOUSE)
This is the way in the whole village. Very beautiful as you are trekking but it was night. And the noise of the river flowing nearby was frightening. We could not get in touch with our hotel, so we saw a light a little far away, we thought we would stay here no matter how much money it took because we were tired. After going there, we talked about some bargaining, then got a room for 4 people for 3 days in 1800 rupees. Which was very cheap. Everyone took a fresh bath and ate food.
Then we came out of the hotel and went to the river, the sound of the river was very calm in the calmness of the forest. There he collected dry wood from the surroundings and made bonfires near the river.
(BONFIRE)
There was peace in the whole forest, with low-pitched music, our whole day's tiredness came to an end in a minute. Sitting there till late night, then all the friends went to sleep.
The next day, when I opened my eyes in the hotel built in the middle of the mountains and came out of the room, I just kept looking around peacefully for some time. How beautiful is nature. Then all the friends got up, made breakfast and prepared for Kheerganga trekking. So we went back from Challal village to Main Bazaar in Kasol, from there we took the bus straight to Manikarn. kasol - manikarn - barshini Kasol to manikarn -
(MANIKARAN SHAHB GURUDWARA)
After stopping at Manikarn for some time, took another bus from there directly to Barshini. Manikarn to barshini -
(BARSHINI)
Yes, let me tell you that there are two routes from Barshini to Kheer Ganga, one from the village and one is a bit difficult but there are adventures. We took a rough road and it was raining lightly. The trekking from Barshini to Kheerganga is about 14KM.
(TREK CLIPS)
We started walking. It was a very narrow and beautiful road. There were small water springs everywhere, so there was no shortage of drinking water. There were small shops everywhere where you get biscuits, maggie and food items. When we reached Kheerganga at night, it was a bit cold too. After reaching up there, it does not seem that we are trekking in the jungles. There shops, tents have everything for you to say, from pizza to roti.
There we rented 2 tents, the rent for a tent was Rs 400.
(TANT)
We slept in our tents after getting tired at night. When we opened our eyes in the morning, we found ourselves in the lap of the mountains. What a beautiful sight it was, surrounded by mountains all around, mild cold, the sounds of birds. It was as if the clouds had hugged the mountains. And together with the temple of Lord Shiva, the creator of all these. Going up a little, there is a pool where you can take a bath. We took a bath there, so hot water in such cold valleys was relaxing. After taking bath we saw Bholenath.
(BHOLENATH TEMPLE)
Sitting there for some time, kept looking at those beautiful mountains. As the sun god was shining his light, the snow lying on the mountains looked golden in colour. It was a very beautiful sight. We had to go back to kasol a little early, so we could not stay much. That's why after having breakfast, we started coming back down from the second trek , as I told you in the beginning that there are two routes to Kheerganga.
The other way comes through villages, villages that have five or seven houses. There you cannot touch their houses and temples. Hot water springs at every little distance, I cannot describe this beauty. Even if I want to do it, it will be injustice to that beauty.
Then we reached back to Barshini and took a bus from there to Kasol. After reaching Kasol, we went back to our room in Chalal village. Stayed there, took some rest, sat outside on the bank of the river and talked a little. It was a small journey, it was not known at all when so many days of Kasol had passed.
Nice blog bhai carry on๐
